Kitchen remodel underway!
Our long-awaited kitchen remodel started on June 11th. Should take about 6 weeks. (Fingers crossed.) We're opening the kitchen to the dining room and installing new floors, countertops, appliances, lighting and new cabinets. This little kitchen hasn't had any TLC since someone installed a mauve laminate coutertop and matching tile floor 20 years ago. The range and fridge are each at least 25 years old and the cabinets are original to the house - in other words, 75 years old!
Morning of Day 1 - last look at the old kitchen:
Goodbye dishwasher that hasn't worked in 8 years
Goodbye wall
End of Day 1:
1938 cabinets gone!
Plaster gone!
Fridge in the dining room (and that's where it's going to stay for the next 5 or 6 weeks)
End of Day 5:
That back staircase on the left in eventually going to be our new pantry!
The wall between the kitchen and dining room is gone!
Only the ducts remain - and they'll be gone next week.

didn't see this till today.
Must be quit the adventure to have all that gone, I bet this will be the longest 5 - 6 weeks for u.

Hey kids, what a treat you're giving yourselves! I always watch these shows on TV, my favortite, as a matter of fact. I think it's probably more fun to watch than to live through, but it's so obvious how much you're going to enjoy it.
