The Triple Crown + 1
It might not be the Iron Man or the Vans Triple Crown of Surfing, but Jason completed his own multi-event this summer and fall. It was more of a Triple Crown + 1 -- maybe a quadruple crown?
It started in June with a 184.5 mile bike ride from Cumberland, Maryland to DC along the C&O canal. This is the reverse of the ride back in 2012. Mario and buddies Bob and Carson joined in for the fun.
Next up was September's Seagull Century, a one-day, 100 mile ride on Maryland's beautiful (and flat) Eastern Shore. Again joined by Bob and Carson (and their families), the goal was to finish the race before the course closed (which they did, but just barely).
Moving into October and from pedal power to running, the third event was the Army Ten Miler. The nation's largest 10 mile race has over 26,000 finishers. Jason finished just under two hours without pulling any muscles, which was his personal goal.
The final event was November's Across the Bay 10k. Mario was back for this awesome race over the Chesapeake Bay Bridge from Annapolis, Maryland to Kent Island. It was a great course, especially running 186 feet above the bay.
Whew....time for the 42 year old to take a long winter's nap....

It's best not to look at the mileage when you're starting out
At the Paw Paw tunnel
Nap time
In front of the hotel in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia
Time for some after ride refreshments
At the legendary Bill's Place bar somewhere along the trail. A true oasis.
Water pump along the trail
At the finish on the Georgetown Waterfront
Believe it or not there was more mud on the riders than on the bikes
