Tico Tales - Zarcero (February 17)
Occasional Tales from our Life in Costa Rica
We recently traveled to the mountain village of Zarcero, famous for its beautiful church and topiary garden. The pastel wooden church was built in 1895 and is painted inside with delicate designs. The topiary garden outside has existed for the past 30 years and features cypress bushes pruned into all kinds of unusual forms. The town itself is set high among pine groves and dairy farms.
