Tico Tales - Pueblo Antiguo (March 18)
Occasional Tales from our Life in Costa Rica
We discovered a great place last weekend called "Pueblo Antiguo." It's a recreation of San Jose in the 1900s. There's a charming town square with fountain and bandstand, a church, courthouse, fire station, general store, farm with lots of animals, and more. We timed our visit perfectly because right after we arrived, a parade started down the little street in front of the church. It's a lovely place, and a great way to spend an afternoon. Pueblo Antiguo is a part of the Parque Nacional de Diversiones, Costa Rica's national amusement park. It's the only amusement park in the world to donate all of its profits, and it helps support San Jose's Children's Hospital, the most advanced of its kind in Central America.

Jason posed with one of the traditional ox carts that were once used to transport beans on coffee plantations. Families took great pride in decorating their carts.

OK - I am always so happy to get a quick glimpse of your lives when I hop on here every once in a while. I love seeing Sophie growing up and getting so big. What a cutie pie! I am eager for more photos and commentary about your new location. AMAZING! Take care - Megan
