Tico Tales - Museo de los Ninos
Occasional Tales from our Life in Costa Rica
We recently headed downtown to visit San Jose's children's museum, also known as the Costa Rican Center of Science and Culture. The museum is housed in a former prison. It's a nice bit of symbolism to turn a jail into a children's museum, don't you think? We were very impressed with the interactive exhibits on geography, Costa Rican culture and history, the human body, and more. Sophie especially had a great time.

Guess it was a fancy prison! (Not really - a few old cells are preserved inside and they looked really dismal.)

Sophie cooking up some plastic tamales. Que rico!

Sophie and Daddy inside a giant mouth! Sophie's on the lookout for plaque.

What better way to finish the visit than with some ice cream?
