Tico Tales - Grammy's Back
Occasional Tales from our Life in Costa Rica
We haven't updated our page in a while. Amy's mom was here and she was distracting us with her demands for games of Scrabble and visits to bakeries. We did only a little sight seeing, mostly opting to just hang out instead. It was special for all of us to have Grammy here on Mother's Day.

We took a fun day trip to the Orosi Valley. Linda enjoyed getting a glimpse of small town life in Costa Rica. Here's Linda and Amy outside the Iglesia de San Jose de Orosi, the oldest church in Costa Rica, dating from 1743.

Linda and Jason at a charming lakeside restaurant in the valley

On the right side of the board you will see Linda's use of the word saunter. As everyone knows, it's a 50 point bonus when you manage to use all of your letters in a single turn. She insisted we document the moment.

Linda in her rain gear at InBio Parque. The highlights of our visit were spotting a two-toed tree sloth in the branches and shining flashlights into the exhibit of the nocturnal red-eyed tree frog. The creepy crawlies in the bug house were pretty cool, too.

Bocce ball in the backyard

The ladies

Linda finally got to see leaf cutter ants up close and in action.

Thanks for coming, Grammy!

What a beautiful Mother's Day for Linda and Amy - and, of course, Jason and Sophie got in on all the fun. Everyone looks so happy and we're glad you got to spend so much time together. Great memories. We love you all,
The Husband
