Tico Tales - Sophie's Birthday Fun at Panaca

In honor of Sophie's birthday, we made a trip last weekend to Panaca, Costa Rica's newly opened farming theme park. The park tries to promote contact between people and animals and to give people a better understanding and deeper appreciation of nature. There are four stations in the park: cattle and sheep, dogs, pigs, and horses. It is all very interactive and hands-on, so despite the scorching temperatures and long hikes between exhibits, we had a great time.
Feeding the ponies
Sophie enjoyed her first-ever pony ride! She was like an old pro, not scared at all. (Water buffalo rides were also an option, but we passed on those!)
Petting the sheep
Sophie loved, loved, loved this Shetland pony.
Sophie thought she was strong enough to hold the lamb like Daddy.
Sophie and Mommy even got to bottle feed some baby pigs!
World's cutest pig . . . his enclosure was located approximately 20 feet from the The Pig House restaurant. Arroz con cerdo, anyone?

What a great place to visit! Come on, no pictures of Jason on a water buffalo???? That I would like to see.
